Title: Towards fast and explainable architectures for limited angle tomography

Abstract

In recent years, hybrid reconstruction frameworks have been proposed by unfolding classical iterative methods and learning their inner parameters by using supervised learning techniques. This kind of approaches needs a large number of iterations to reach a good reconstruction, but this requirement leads to some problems such as the gradient vanishing or the huge memory consumption during the training. In order to mitigate these drawbacks, we propose to unfold an inertial scheme, which has a faster convergence rate, which means less iterations required. Moreover, motivated by the new results on Plug-and-Play methods, we replace the proximal operator with a learnable denoiser, which verifies specific conditions by construction leading to the convergence of the resulting scheme. The numerical experiments on limited-angle CT achieve promising results, showing the benefits of our proposal.
